Fat transfer has been used in facial cosmetic surgery for many years to augment the cheeks, lips, temples or naso-labial grooves. It has also been used in more of a reconstructive capacity to fill in areas that may be deficient or depressed following surgical procedures, trauma, facial wasting syndromes or even following steroid injections. The obvious advantage to using your own fat is that there are no allergic reactions, it’s usually quite available and lasts longer than most fillers. There are many claims regarding the longevity of fat, depending on where it’s taken and where it’s placed, how it is processed and how it is injected. I am presenting one case where a deformity was produced between the eyebrows following a surgical procedure and caused the patient much distress until it was corrected with fat.
